2012-02-01, , it’s no sersripud it got cancelled; they’re marketing towards a group that doesn’t actually sit down and watch television anymore. As a Gen Y-er myself, I feel as so that the platform for our generation is all digital; the “Facebook Generation,” or the Twitter Generation. We like things at our fingertips, and to access what we want anytime we want, any place we want. That’s why things like Hulu and Netflix are popular; not just because I can watch “Community” online, but because I can watch it any time I want, any where, including on my Xbox/PS3, with little to no advertisements. While I could have just bootlegged it all, I didn’t; the platform was too appealing.HBO didn’t do that with “HTMIIA.” They stuck to their old platform, and when the old strategy doesn’t work, they just dump the product and move on to the next thing. If they want money from Gen Y, though, they’re going to have to evolve their platform; they’re going to have to change how the material is delivered. Otherwise, they’ll keep making shows like “America…” and “Community” that everyone likes but gets cancelled. It’s the same problem with the music industry; the better platform curbs piracy, not suing the shit out of 12 year olds. But that was a rant, so I’ll sum it up: Fuck HBO. They can go EABOD for cancelling this show, and I hope it gets new like on Hulu/Netflix. I’ll gladly watch the show all damn day.
